Bryant Joins USO of Indiana to Host Indiana Troops at Indianapolis Motor Speedway

INDIANAPOLIS, May 23, 2016 — Bryant and the USO of Indiana yesterday hosted a group of wounded warriors and troops from all four branches of the military at its Indianapolis Motor Speedway suite. Bryant is a part of UTC Climate, Controls & Security, a unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX).

Bryant joined the USO of Indiana to host approximately 100 individuals, including a half dozen wounded warriors receiving extended treatment at the Richard L. Roudebush Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Indianapolis. The event was held on Armed Forces Pole Day, where race teams compete for the pole position and the final slots in the upcoming Indianapolis 500.

The 100th running of the Indianapolis 500 will take place Sunday, May 29. Bryant is the longest running non-automotive sponsor associated with the Indianapolis 500.

USO staff and thousands of dedicated volunteers operate more than 160 support centers worldwide. This team brings knowledge and expertise essential to deliver high-quality programs and services to men and women in uniform, wherever they serve. Here in Indiana, the USO supports National Guard and Reserve troops at a dozen sites throughout the state.

“The USO of Indiana was thrilled to join Bryant Heating & Cooling for one of our largest and most high profile events of the year,” said Charles Ridings, executive director, USO of Indiana.

“Many of our troops had never been to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway before and this was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to visit this iconic site and interact with the drivers and their teams

who will compete in the race next weekend. We are incredibly grateful for the generosity Bryant demonstrated to host so many of our troops at their suite.”

Bryant employees who are also military veterans served as hosts for the event. Alongside the Bryant True Heroes program, this event marked another investment for Bryant in supporting the communities in which it does business.

“Bryant is committed to honoring our military veterans and is pleased our veteran employees could host these Indiana troops for this unique event,” said Matthew Pine, vice president, Marketing, Bryant. “We recognize the incredible sacrifice these troops and their families make for our country and it’s an honor to be able to do our part to thank them for their service with this event.”
