We suddenly noted a failure of our upstairs AC unit over a weekend. I called C\&C Myers immediately, and they sent a technician to look at the unit on Monday. After his evaluation and looking at pictures of the coils which were old and rusted, it was decided to go with installation of a new high efficiency unit. We were to leave town on Thursday of that week. C\&C Myers promptly ordered the unit that same day, and on Wednesday the unit and compressor were installed. New Split Unit Installation
We found that our 15 year old upstairs split HVAC unit had failed on Friday 7/5. The service technician recommended a new variable speed system and gave us a quote on the spot. Two temporary window A/C units were provided to keep cool for the weekend. The installation team arrived at 7:30 Monday and finished their work by 1:30. All work was professional with no house damage and all debris cleaned. The system runs noticeably less than the old system to maintain the same temperature. I anticipate noticeable savings. This was the best AC service that I've ever had. Both the man who diagnosed the problem (Joey B.) that led to the AC replacement and the men who did the installation (led by Derek) were extremely competent, very patient with my many (probably laughably ignorant) questions, and unfailingly courteous and professional without ever being stuffy or condescending. Despite their encountering an unforeseen access problem that required the temporary removal of my water heater by a hastily summoned company plumber, they finished the job on time and did not charge me extra, as I worried might be the case. The estimate was fair and the Bryant brand is dependable, according to my online research and my consultation with a friend who is knowledgeable about air conditioners. My AC is working like a charm and the air in my condo already smells much fresher. This was a very different experience from encounters (rare, thank heaven!) with handymen who view a single woman living alone as an easy rip\-off target, who arrive high or intoxicated or, worst of all, see single women as potential prey. I was treated appropriately and with respect at all times by the men working here at all times, and I felt very safe. For that, I am extra grateful, and I am recommending C \& C Myer to my friends. Faulty System for Installation at 2000 Belle Isle Avenue - Unit 201
I was pleased with the installation crew, but the system froze up due to a faulty temperature control valve. A technician was dispatched during the evening of 5/22, but couldn't troubleshoot due to the frozen coils and line set. My wife and I slept in 85 degree temps. A second technician arrived the following morning at 9 a.m. and worked most of the day to get the system running, leaving around 3:30 p.m. The condo reached a temperature of 74 degrees around 9 p.m. on 5/23. Not a very good impression of the new system.
