We were have trouble with our A/C unit in the home we had just purchased. Pender Bros. came quickly and determined the repair would be costly on a 13 yr. old unit. So we opted for a new unit. They were careful of our floors, putting down runners, and very careful removing the old unit from our home. 52 Tanglewood Installation
They did an excellent job. I wanted the unit relocated from under the house and installed in the closet under the stairs. My two major concerns were the rework of the floor joists to install the plenum in the crawl space and the return air register. Both turned out to be no issue. They located the unit in the closet so it fit between the joists and still sat back far enough from the closet door so that there was no interference. The return original air register was retained so there was no need to redo any interior sheet rock. The installation as it now stands is much easier to access and maintain. I don't have to crawl under the house to access and service the air handler. I installed the new duct work and as cautioned, with metal ducts you can hear the blower slightly when it comes on, but it's much quieter than the old unit and much more efficient. I like the new wifi thermostat, lots of options on schedules and settings. Overall, I'm very happy to have the system upgrade, the relocation of the air handler and the operation of the new unit. I plan to replace my upstairs unit in the spring and will have Pender Bros. do it also.
