Don't hire this HVAC contractor unless you like chaos, lack of communications and unresolved issues.
I wanted potential customers of Diamond Mechanical to be aware of my experience.
This is a long story so hang in there; Most issues were resolved but I still have a vibrating/rumbling furnace which Mike never scheduled to look at. Mike's demeanor and interaction with me via text and in person seemed to change the more I reported issues with the installation and asking to be kept informed on status. I had to resend texts and still received either no response or responses days/weeks later. He does not know how to communicate or treat his customers courteously. I understand that he was having knee problems that led to surgery, but he should have told me earlier and provided status at different points. You can text someone even if your laid-up in bed. I never knew if he had ordered repair parts or when he was scheduled to come out to make the repair. He probably shouldn't have even taking the job since he was a one-person company and had no-one else in his company to send out. Most issues were resolved but I still have a vibrating/rumbling furnace.
Here's a list of problems encountered during the installation; Problem Number 1; Mike the owner of Diamond Mechanical came out with another person, who said he represented Bryant furnaces, for an estimate to remove my old LP Gas furnace and install a new Bryant Evolution. After discussing the installation, warranty etc., I asked them if the new furnace would fit into the existing space. They said it should fit but didn’t actually measure the old v.s. new furnace dimensions to make sure. Mike presented the estimate (pretty pricy) and I said I’d get back to him. Since I couldn’t find/get any other Authorized Bryant Dealers for this job, I went with Diamond Mechanical, feeling leery about my decision. Should have made sure that the new furnace would fit in the existing space between the air filter below and A/C evaporator coil box above.
Problem Number 2; On the day of installation (5/9/24), two other HVAC contractors showed up, not Diamond Mechanical or Mike. Mike told me via text that he was out on medical so he wouldn’t be there. I thought someone else from Diamond Mechanical would come in Mike’s place. Instead, I was getting different contractors (who I never chose or reviewed) for the job. I later found out that he was out with knee surgery and his company consisted of one person (Mike).
Problem Number 3 (related to Problem 1: The other contractors proceeded to rip out the old furnace, cutting the furnace in half along with the existing water line to the humidifier and condensation pipe. After many hours, they proceeded to install the new furnace but found it was a little too big in height to fit. They called Mike on the phone and asked Mike what he wanted to do. Mike said “Just deal with it”. They didn’t look into swapping the furnace out with one that fit. The other contractors then cut some of the duct work above the A/C evaporator coil box. I believe they cut-out a piece of duct work that isolates vibrations directly above the A/C evaporator coil box that sits on the furnace to get the furnace to fit into the existing space. The installation should have been stopped and never attempted since the new furnace was too big to fit. Another furnace that fit should have been ordered and installed.
After a day of cutting out the old furnace and cutting away some of the metal duct above the evaporator coil box, they managed to wedge the new furnace in.
I actually saw sub-contractor having difficulty lining the gas and drain pipes up with the mating connections on the furnace. I believe he forced the pipe connections on instead of using flex pipes/connections. Since the furnace was already secured in place, he couldn’t move the furnace to align the connections. He should have used a flex connection for the gas line and re-plumbed the the condensation piping to bring them into alignment. I think this is causing stress on the mating connected pipes inside the furnace and racking the furnace chassis. This is important later on as after running the furnace for awhile, I noticed a vibration/rumbling when the furnace was operating at high blower speeds.
Problem Number 4; The installation was not complete at this point so no heat that night. One of the subs came back the next day 5/10/24) to finish the installation. After everything was reconnected and wired up, the old control panel was no longer working. The first floor damper was not opening. It was working before the installation so it must have been broken during the new installation. The sub-contractor managed to rig it up to give us heat. To Mike’s credit, a new control panel was installed on May 20th (10-days later) at no charge to get the furnace to work properly with the control panel. Zones and A/C where now working. However, Mike didn’t check any furnace switch settings to insure proper setup or optimal performance. It was basically wire up the control panel, turn on the furnace and A/C unit and see that the fan was blowing out air. At no time did he go inside the house to check the thermostat settings or check airflow through the duct registers. At least now I had a running furnace. Yeah!
Problem Number 5; I ran the furnace (both for heat and A/C for a few months. I did notice that the furnace was vibrating or shaking when the fan ramped up to speed when calling for heat or AC. I could hear the vibration as well as feel it by putting my hand on the furnace frame, the connected gas and condensation pipes and in the wall inside the house behind the furnace. At times, you could feel the rumbling in the walls and floors. I didn’t report this to Mike until Oct. 8th because I didn’t want to be without A/C in the hot summer months.
Problem Number 6; I went to run the blower motor manually via the thermostat so that I could show the vibrating problem without turning on the heat or A/C. I found out that the wire coming from the control panel was no longer connected at the thermostat end. Since I can read schematic diagrams, I reconnected the fan wire and it the fan now turned on in manual mode. The replacement contractor didn’t make the connection as it worked with the old furnace/control panel. I never reported this to Mike.
Problem Number 7; On Oct 8th, 2024, water was leaking inside the furnace from a drain connector due to a torn gasket. Again, it was installed this way. I told Mike and he ordered a new drain connector kit. On Nov. 1st, I asked Mike for status on the drain connectors. He notified me on Nov. 4th that he had been out for 10-days with knee surgery. I said I understood but he seemed upset when I told him he could have let me know so I wouldn’t think nothing was being done. Mike installed a new drain connector on Nov. 4th it at no charge. He did seem annoyed or angry with me and didn’t make eye contact or acknowledge me when entering the premisses.
Problem 5 again; On Oct. 8th, 2024, I also reported via text to Mike that I noticed that the furnace was vibrating or shaking when the fan ramps up to speed when calling for heat or AC. I believe the blower fan/wheel is out of balance. I believe forcing the furnace into its location probably is causing the vibrations. It could have come from the factory with the blower fan out of balance, I don’t know. I would not expect the furnace to vibrate like this since Bryant touts that they have one of the quietest furnaces on the market. My old Rheem furnace never vibrated during operation.
On Dec 17th, I told Mike there was a little water collecting in a well under the condensation drain trap. No answer.
On Feb. 15th and 20th I resent the text about the vibrations but got no answer.
Feb 25th just a canned auto text response. Feb 26th, asked again for help. Feb 27th, Indicated by text that I said no rush and schedule for end of March. I thought he was going to get back to me with a day/time to come out and take a look. Never heard back. I wanted this issue resolved before Mike’s 1-year support expired. He’ll probably say he was waiting to hear back from me to schedule a visit. He knew I had this problem and it was on him to reach out and schedule a troubleshooting visit.
Haven’t heard back as of (12/13/25). My texts are no longer reaching Mike. I believe he has blocked me. Seems like he was fed up with the issues I was reporting to him as Bryant Dealer/Service Contractor.
Reached out one more time by text on Jan 2nd, 2026 and still no response. I’m giving up and will have a more reputable HVAC contractor come out at my expense to figure out why my furnace vibrates and rumbles the floor and walls.
They give a canned response to the review which pretends they're concerned so they can reel-in new customers. If they were truly concerned, they would have answered my texts and scheduled a call to fix the issue.
For the above reasons, I can't recommend this company!
